Homemade = healither

Very much like humans, your pet’s quality of life and health depends on the diet you provide. An improper diet, or a diet lacking in certain nutrients causes bad health and illness. Most pet owners are concerned about giving their pets the proper nutrition, but think all because it says so on the bag and has lots of pretty pictures of healthy ingredients that it is true.

Our pets are family. The type and quality of food you offer your pet can either heal or harm. Dogs and cats, which are basically carnivores and predators by nature, require a species-appropriate, meat-based diet. But dogs and cats will also source out additional greens and even fruits if the opportunity and necessity arises.

Your pet is at the mercy of what you provide it.

Healthy snacks that round out your pet’s diet are important. Homemade Moringa pet treats are the perfect real Food treats and the perfect resource to make sure your pet receives 100% of what it needs to thrive.

We have experimented with hundreds of different homemade pet snacks, and now we’ve created homemade pet treat recipes we’ll share with you. We believe there’s a healthier option than the commercial treats you see stacked on supermarket shelves. Who knows how long they have been there or what chemicals have been laced with giving them a longer shelf life.

Don’t be fooled by the attractively packaged products that promise high quality. I too have fallen into this marketing trap. Don’t be fooled. Commercial produced pet food is nutritionally deficient, overly processed junk food. Their priority is to make money at the cost of your pet’s health and longevity. There are a handful of ethical companies producing human grade, fresh, non-GMO, organic pet foods out there, but they can be hard to find and are usually very expensive.

The best way to know what’s in your pet food and treats is to make it yourself. If you decide to take on this task, please do your research and be as nutritionally complete as possible. Balance is key to ensuring good health. This means that the food or treats you decide to make should contain the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients your pet needs.

I have seen, and continue to see severe nutritional deficiencies leading to disease, and irreversible organ damage due to well-meaning pet owners feeding commercial kibble or homemade but nutrient-lacking diets. I also believe that feeding my own dog a commercial kibble diet caused her early death. This was where my research began, and the reason for coming up with a solution to this widespread and relatively unnoticed problem.
